Then 20-year-old Mongeau decided to host TanaCon due to a dispute with the original convention. The YouTuber wasn't given a Featured Creator badge in their previous events which always led to fans swarming on her around the venue. With the badge, creators get to use private service hallways in the convention center. TanaCon was canceled when it was unable to accommodate all its participants due to poor planning.

Not long after that incident, Mongeau got into trouble again. She was arrested at Coachella for underage drinking. On a Twitter thread, Johnston also revealed that Mongeau wasn't in her high school yearbook. She wrote, "I've now looked through all the yearbooks from her high school from 2004-2009 and she is not in any of them, so either she is younger than that, she missed picture day (they don't seem to have any 'not pictured' students), or she didn't go to that high school. There are no yearbooks online after 2009 that i can find so i might die not knowing if this is real."
