The Undertaker Not Lacing Up The Boots Again
Taker Shoots Down Any Speculation He Might Do One More Match
The Undertaker, who retired at WrestleMania 36 in 2020, was a guest on Logan Paul's Impaulsive podcast this week and he opened up about his internal struggle to avoid one more match since retiring. He said that he could only be around the locker room as a visitor for so long because the itch was often too great. "There is something in my mind that tells me, 'You still got one in you somewhere,'" Taker revealed.
However, when asked if he truly believes he has another match left, he responded, "I don't know. I think I took my body to the limits of what it could do." He was happy with the match against AJ Styles and mentioned that performing, even if briefly, at WrestleMania 40 helped him cope. Interestingly, he noted that he found out minutes before his appearance at WrestleMania 40 that WWE and Triple H wanted to include him in the conclusion of the Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns match.
Joe Hendry Sticking Around With WWE and NXT
He's Not Going Back To TNA Anytime Soon
On Tuesday night's episode of NXT, after defeating Joe Coffey, he told the fans that he wasn't going anywhere and thought he'd stick around a lot longer. He was asked by the interviewer what he thought of his run in NXT and responded that the insinuation was that it was over. It's not and WWE has been quite happy with the results of putting him on their show and giving him some prime opportunities to showcase himself.
During a recent interview on the Wrestling Matt Hendry discussed his desire to eventually have a segment with The Rock. He hinted that the two could have a great "concert" moment in WWE and noted, "Maybe one day we'll see a guitar-off between myself and The Great One, who knows? We've already had me versus Elias. But I've just got a feeling me and The Rock are gonna have to cross paths at some point. To me, he's still got the No. 1 concert segment."
Odyssey Jones Debut Pulls In Big Numbers
How Will WWE Proceed If Jones Is A Huge Draw?
Triple H tweeted after Raw, "Strength, size, star power… and he’s only getting started. Odyssey Jones is a game-changer." He might not be wrong as Jones' debut on Raw pulled in huge social media numbers. At the time of this writing, he's pulled in nearly 10 million views across WWE's social platforms. Slamming both members of AOP at the same time was likely a huge drawing point as he did so effortlessly and there is real curiosity about a potential star that many fans don't know much about.
It will be intriguing to see where WWE takes him. Currently, the plan is to introduce potential friction between Jones and Xavier Woods, teasing a possible New Day split. Woods might go heel, but WWE may change direction if they believe Jones can really impact ratings and numbers in a more spotlighted role.
AEW Dynamite To Be Missing Several Big Names Tonight?
Tony Khan Cited FLight Issues Hours Ahead of Dynamite
Just hours before tonight's episode of Dynamite, AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter to send out a pre-warning that many stars had experienced flight cancellations. Some were “struggling” to make it to the show and might not appear. According to Khan, those already announced for the show have either already arrived, or are en route. He said he's avoided making other announcements because he's not sure yet who will be in attendance and who won't.
